In 2026, we released two new versions of CARS: CARS-SC and CARS Connect. Both represent a streamlined version of CARS that is faster to administer but retains its validity for mental health screening. Both have impaired driving modules that are only activated if a screening is being completed for an impaired driving program, so can be used by a variety of programs. CARS Connect is a cloud-based version of CARS and can be accessed by registering for an account at carstrainingcenter.org/cars-connect. CARS-SC can be installed the same way as past versions of CARS, and can be downloaded below.
